Koprepatti bowls are characterized by their slightly domed shape, tall profile, and thin walls.
This design gives them a strong vibrational capacity, especially in the upper rim. For this reason, when playing them with a mallet, it is recommended to use the padded (leather-covered) side to avoid unwanted tapping caused by the bowl’s vibration against the wooden handle.
The sound they produce is usually complex and very open, with lower frequencies becoming more predominant as the bowl increases in size and weight.
They come with a large wood and leather mallet.
